Bluewater Quilters' Guild Studio - Pauline's Place

In 2014 there was an opportunity to rent a storefront at 769 2nd Avenue East in Owen Sound. This allowed guild members to gather and to make quilts in a community setting. In 2015, when Pauline McCutcheon passed away from cancer, it was decided to name this space “Pauline’s Place” as she had been instrumental in organizing our Community Outreach Committee. Having a place to gather offers a unique opportunity for guild members.

Pauline’s Place is used for Community Outreach, committee meetings, workshops, beginner quilting classes and retreats.

The Quilting Studio is a place where guild members can:

        • Access library books – (please see the “Library resource” information on how to sign out a book)
        • Get inspiration for quilts
        • Socialize and have fun with other quilters
        • Attend workshops
        • Check out the “free” items
        • Join others in making quilts for Community donations:
        • Hand quilt
        • Use the Design Walls
        • Use the elevated Cutting Table and rotary cutting equipment
        • Obtain fabric, batting and thread to make quilts for Community donation
        • Obtain kits to make a quilt or activity mat for Community donation
        • Get labels for the Community donation quilts
        • Help tame the stash by cutting squares and strips

There is limited parking behind the building and two-hour parking out front. Do check the calendar for times and events. Ring the doorbell for access.

Conversation at Pauline’s Place is abundant and lively. Advice is freely given. Please join us when you can! Or consider organizing an activity with some other members on a day that suits your schedule.
